Lubricated Philosophy

Lubricated Philosophy, released on 4 September 2026, is the debut album from Glasgow alt-rock four piece Mean & Filthy, a ten track ride that folds several years of songwriting and a few earlier singles into one record. The band launched it live at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow on 13 September. The focus track sent to The Next Radio is All The Same, and the album moves from hard hitting riffs with floating vocals (Shades of Red, Lizard Moon) to more upbeat material (Sexy When You’re Mad, When We Come Down) and even a touch of Celtic folk (Maze of Hedges, Mo Cluraran). Mean & Filthy are Liam Hill on vocals, Mike Parkin on guitars, Scott James on bass and Nav Saran on drums, and the comparisons they draw are Alice in Chains, Audioslave and Porcupine Tree.
