Allarme Rosso nel Golfo Persico

Written in 1991 during the Gulf crisis and left unreleased for thirty five years, Allarme Rosso nel Golfo Persico finally arrived in 2026 with contemporary production layered over the original material. Italian alternative rock with post-punk edges and electronic texture, it is a song that carries the anxiety of the moment it was written into a recording made three decades later.

Nunzio and Claudio Ciccone, brothers who started the project in Scampia, Naples, are explicit about what they refused to touch. The production was moved into the present, but the lyrics about war, oil, nationalism and the individual caught inside events larger than himself were left exactly as written in 1991. In their own words, they did not make the past predict the future, they simply allowed the past to speak again.

Update, September 2026. Fiori del Male have been selected for the national final of Sanremo Rock, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo on 11 and 12 September 2026. Scampia 1991 to the Ariston stage 2026, thirty five years later.
