Mother Green and her Killing Machine

The single that introduced Winecraft outside Alsace. The title comes from a line in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, where Mother Green and her killing machine is slang for the United States Marine Corps, and the song uses it to look at indoctrination and the machinery that turns people into instruments. Musically it is the darkest thing in the Strasbourg quartet’s catalogue, heavy on riff and permanently tense, and it later reappeared as a live version on the 2025 album Turning Water Into Wine.
