Claude Hay & The Kung Fu Mustard

Claude Hay & The Kung Fu Mustard is a three piece rock groove band from Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia. Claude Hay spent roughly a decade working as a one man band, handling vocals, guitar, bass and drums himself and assembling songs on stage with looping pedals. That method carried four solo albums between 2007 and 2016, starting with his 2007 debut Kiss The Sky, onto Australia's Roots Music Report and the US Billboard blues charts. In 2019 he retired the loop rig in favour of a full lineup, with Isaac Beggs on drums and Ryan Van Gennip on bass. The trio leans hard into old school funk, riff heavy rock and a hint of retro hip hop. Mirrorball is their first release under the new name, a nod to the Parliament and Funkadelic school of P-Funk filtered through the band's own funk rock twist, and a self titled album is planned for later this year.
