Waves of Defeat

Waves of Defeat is an independent modern rock and post-hardcore project from Minnesota, USA. It is the work of Eric Jensen, credited as songwriter and creative director, which makes it a solo project rather than a band in the conventional sense, even though the recordings arrive with the weight of a full lineup. The songs deal with anxiety, depression, resilience and the ordinary realities most people keep to themselves, and they all sit on one recurring idea: reminding the listener that they are not alone. Each release tells a different story, but the premise stays the same, heavy music carrying a direct message. Over the past year the project has built a presence on international independent radio through stations, DJs and shows across several countries, done without label support and one connection at a time. You're Not the Only One, released on 14 August 2026, is about the things people tend to hide, and about saying them out loud as the thing that keeps you moving.
