Bring Me The Horizon in Ottawa: Same Game, New Level, and a Song From 2006

Five months after Centre Bell, the POST HUMAN: NeX GEn show came back to the region with Motionless In White and The Plot In You, and pulled “Pray for Plagues” out of their 2006 debut.

Back for more

Five months after I saw them take over Centre Bell, I went to Ottawa to see if Bring Me The Horizon could do it again. They could. Canadian Tire Centre, with Motionless In White and The Plot In You opening, felt like a festival headliner night.

The show is still built like a video game. A “Press Start” intro rolled before “DArkSide” and “The House of Wolves”, and EVE kept guiding the story between songs, the screens treating each era of the band as a different level.

The changes for long-time fans

The band tweaked the set for this run. “Dehumanized” came in after “Teardrops”, and the surprise for long-time fans was “Pray for Plagues”, pulled all the way back from their 2006 debut and placed right after “Kingslayer”. Hearing those two eras back to back tells you how far this band has travelled.

“MANTRA”, “Happy Song”, “Kool-Aid” and “Shadow Moses” kept the arena moving, and “Follow You” and “Can You Feel My Heart” closed the main set.

Doomed, Drown, Throne

The encore was the same knockout as in Montreal: “Doomed”, “Drown” and “Throne”, with the whole arena shouting every line back at Oli Sykes.
