Hazy

Hazy is a May 2026 single from Plastic Academy, the New York alt-rock and art-rock project founded in late 2025 by veteran songwriter Mike Borgia and Shawn Sullivan. Released on 12 May 2026, it follows the project around the idea of meaningful creation over industry convention.

Borgia, a prolific New York songwriter with more than twenty solo records and time in The Treads and The Problems, fronts the project with a wide, alt-blues-rooted vocal range. Plastic Academy sit on the independent edge of 2026 rock, present on Bandcamp and the post-Spotify co-op platform Subvert.fm rather than chasing the streaming mainstream.
